    Sean,

They are just buying into the liberal media induced stereotype that if your conservative you must be either stupid or homophobic and your name is either Billy Bob or Homer.

I don?t want to see a movie about gay cowboys any more then I want to see a movie about heterosexual southern woman staring a Flying Nun or if Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are still getting e-mail. But if I post that I don?t want to, then I am some stupid, homophobic Neanderthal.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I am not sure where you got that from my posts. I was wondering if people thought that the advertising for this movie should have a "warning" so as not to offend those who do not wish to view that kind of movie.

Also, there was the implication that I think that the actors are pretty hot and I think I would enjoy watching them kiss....and stuff.

Not your cuppa, don't go. That is all.

    First:
The Boondocks is now a show on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network after 11:00 PM) and next to Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the funniest show on TV. It is a perfect show!

    Secondly,

If people are going to miss seeing a movie because it is deemed "gay", I say fuck'em, they are the ones missing out on a good movie.

Here?s the deal with this movie. We have two gay cowboys, both are married to women but they love each other and enter into a deceitful relationship. Now because being gay is ?cool? to the liberals we all have to find this movie to be about the tragic love between these two men. Heterosexual men are expected to be comfortable watching two men kiss and go gaga over the acting and the cinematography. And even if deep down inside we don?t really want to see the movie, we can?t say so, so we go like good little zombies and even if we don?t like it we say we do. After all we don?t want anyone thinking we are stupid or homophobic.

Now there is this other movie called Brokenfoot valley and it is about a cowboy and a cowgirl who are both married to other heterosexual partners. These same understanding and progressive people will see the main male character as a two-timing cad and the main female character as a slut. Same story line, same tragic love, but in one case it?s ok because their gay and in the other it?s not ok because their straight.

I don?t care about the movie?s story line; I care about the bullshit political correctness that labels me as a stupid homophobic Neanderthal because I don?t want to see the movie. This is the same bullshit political correctness that labeled people who saw The Passion of Christ as rightwing Christian extremists. We have already seen our one movie for the year and may even see another one next Christmas break.

When all is said and done, The Passion of Christ, which also is an excellent movie, didn?t receive an Oscar but made a fortune and Brokeback Mountain will win an Oscar but will be a financial disaster. Even though Movies in Theaters are heading the same way as broadcast radio, you will never see one of those Hollywood liberal assholes admit it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Your right of course, Dulcs point was slightly different though relating to confusion between a cowboy movie and a cowboy movie with gay undertones.
The film is not my cup of tea, and I wont see it I was just wondering If by making that choice, I am deemed ignorant or homophbic.
I watched Spike lee movies when he was good so at least Im not racist!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">While cheating is cheating (some think differently though), there is a a difference between a man attracted to women having a relationship with another woman, than it is with a man who is attracted to men and is married to a woman who has a relationship with another man.

At least admit the dynamics are very different with the two circumstances.

Two of my closest friends were once married and both have children. One did cheat, one didn't. In both cases, the marriage ended.

I can't help but think conservatives would go see the second movie trav mentions and not blink an eye. As a matter of fact, they do so all the time.

And finally, I woke up this morning to Craig Kopp's movie to review on the ever-so-liberal WLW. He says it's a *very* good story, there's no "agenda", Ledger is Oscar worthy, and the movie is very sad. Kopp said the story was honestly told.

He didn't say it directly, but Kopp implied it wasn't a "gay cowboy movie" and there was one sex scene and one kissing scene, that's it. He said he's seen far more sex and more graphic sex in mainstream movies, but that won't deter certain elements from describing it otherwise.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes they are, but what has that to do with cheating on your partner?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not true, a movie about adultery is a movie about adultery sexual preference has nothing to do with it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It's still going to lose money.

He didn't say it directly, but Kopp implied it wasn't a "gay cowboy movie" and there was one sex scene and one kissing scene, that's it. He said he's seen far more sex and more graphic sex in mainstream movies, but that won't deter certain elements from describing it otherwise.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Is the movie about cowboys? Yes. Are the cowboys gay? Yes. So the movie is a gay cowboy movie. I don't see why it's a problem to call a spade a spade. Oh, I forgot, it's not politicaly correct. Frankly the acceptance of this movie by the gay community confuses me. I thought that dispelling the old vicious stereotypes that all gay men are promiscuous was important.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, then it must be a duck.

    Sean,

Okay, I can see how you might have read it that way from what I wrote. But what I MEANT was that their ignorance of what the film was about might cause them to be uncomfortable at seeing something they did not want to see.

I am sorry that what I said was misinterpreted. I in no way meant to imply that those who choose not to see this film are ignorant.

And Trav, I believe that the cowboys' relationship with each other preceeds their respective marriages. Even though they wanted to be with each other, they had to break apart and marry women because that is what society expected.

You KNOW that I am quite against adultery. You know that whole backstory with me. Remember the whole "what happened to Dulcinea" thread?
